Small Group Class (3-5) | N1,500 per class (max of 1hr) | Total # of Classes: 9
Genetics is a branch of biology concerned with the study of genes, genetic variation and heredity in organisms. Heredity is the transfer of character from parents to offspring through gametes. Only characters controlled by genes are inherited. Gregor Mendel was the scientist that discovered genetics through his work on pea plants. At the end of this course, among other things, students will gain very good understanding of heredity and variation, character that can be transmitted, single-factor and polygenic inheritance, dihybrid cross, sex-linked characters, and multiple alleles, Mendel’s work in genetics, chromosomes, co-dominance, linkage and sex determination, and applications of heredity in agriculture and medicine.
