Energy is the capacity to do work. Work is done when a force applied to an object moves that object. Power is the rate at which work is done. There are various sources of energy that enable work to be done. At the end of this course, among other things, students will gain very good understanding of mechanical work, energy and power, sources of energy, renewable and non-renewable energy, machines and their types, and environmental impact of energy uses and energy crises.
