A number base can be described as the number of digits or a combination of digits that a system of counting uses to represent numbers. It may be written beside the number. Surds are the square roots of numbers that cannot be simplified into a whole number. At the end of this module, among other things, students will gain very good understanding of conversion of bases from one form to another, laws of surds. Basic operations in surds, rationalization and simplification of surds, and conversion of decimal numbers to base 10 and vice versa.
