Sexual reproduction is the production of new organisms by the combination of genetic information of two individuals of different sexes. The mechanisms of sexual reproduction in plants and animals are different. At the end of this course, among other things, students will gain very good understanding of meiosis and fertilization, importance of sexual reproduction, reproductive systems in vertebrates, and male and female reproductive systems in humans, gametogenesis, and pollination and reproduction in flowering plants.
