Variation refers to differences that occur within the individuals of a species; usually due to the effects of inherited characteristics and the environment. Competition and adaptations are major survival mechanisms of organisms as changes occur within themselves or in their external environments. At the end of this course, among other things, students will gain very good understanding of types and applications of variation, competition and survival, competition and succession, types of adaptations, and theories and evidences of evolution.
